Edith and Ivan Meza Sagarvinaga are the sister-brother team and second-generation coffee producers behind Finca Tasta in central Peru. In addition to coffee, they also grow an abundance of produce on the land, and they manage 22 acres of protected forest. Edith is an active member of the International Women's Coffee Alliance (IWCA) in Peru, which has given her opportunities to improve the coffee and help achieve Finca Tasta's goal of becoming a model farm for environmentalism and community support.
While we've been keeping an eye on Edith and Ivan for a while, this is the first time we are offering their coffee. And wow, what an introduction. This exquisite natural coffee really stood out on the cupping table. It's not just another fruit-forward cup; it is compelling and complex. Close your eyes, sip slowly, and savor the flavors of walnut and plum with a hint of citrus.
